Becki Newton

Born in New Haven, Connecticut, Becki Newton grew up in Guilford, Connecticut. She's English as well as Czech heritage and first began to perform musicals and plays at local theaters. She later went on to study at the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated with an B.A. European History. At Penn, Newton was a participant in the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Following graduation, Newton then moved to New York City and landed many roles in television commercials with companies such as The Olive Garden. Newton performed the role of Amanda Tanen from 2006-2010 in the comedy drama series Ugly Betty. Newton was host of the official Ugly Betty Podcast together with the co-star Michael Urie.
